Recognising the scale and complexity of the 20-kilometre corridor, Fennec Studio's team led the precinct planning and the delivery of a landscape integration strategy and design framework that informed future planning, design and delivery outcomes across the project. Spanning diverse urban, suburban and environmental settings, the framework established a clear vision for how new infrastructure could respond to local communities, landscape character and ecological systems.

The work focused on more than the movement of trains. It explored how stations, public spaces, walking and cycling connections, streetscapes and natural systems could work together to create more connected, accessible and vibrant communities. Design guidance was developed to support place-sensitive outcomes that improve the passenger experience while strengthening the relationship between transport infrastructure and its surrounding context.

By establishing a shared design vision across the corridor, the project helped guide not only future design development but also the procurement and evaluation of contractor-led design responses. The framework provided a consistent benchmark for assessing how well proposals responded to community, environmental and place outcomes, helping embed these priorities throughout project delivery.

The project demonstrates how strategic landscape thinking can influence infrastructure beyond the design phase.
