Developed as part of the broader Cross River Rail planning process, the concept sought to transform underutilised space above the rail corridor into a vibrant civic destination, strengthening connections between Roma Street Station, Emma Miller Place, the Courts Precinct and Roma Street Parkland.

Fennec Studio's team contributed to the urban design and landscape architectural vision for the precinct, focusing on how people would move through, gather within and experience the city around a major entertainment venue. Central to the concept was the reimagining of Emma Miller Place as a welcoming civic forecourt capable of supporting everyday use, major events and large-scale public gatherings.

The design balanced accessibility, movement, security and subtropical landscape character, creating a framework that responded to Brisbane's climate while supporting a wide range of public activities. New pedestrian and cycle connections helped overcome existing barriers and improve connectivity between some of the city's most important destinations.

While the original Brisbane Live concept location and forms have evolved as planning for the city continued, the project contributed to the broader conversation about the future of Brisbane's city centre and the role major civic destinations can play in shaping a connected, vibrant and people-focused city.
